Natalie is a ﬁrst generation college student majoring in Hospitality and Tourism Management and minoring in Spanish. Her parents migrated from Mexico to the United States to give her and her siblings a better future and live the American Dream. She has been on the Dean’s list since the spring of 2016. Natalie is currently is the Community Service Chair of the Bienvenidos Club, Student Co- Director for Campus Tours and a student member of the Hospitality and Tourism Association. These leadership roles have given her the opportunity to be a role model for Hispanic/Latino students that come to open house with their families. Natalie has been able to, along with her club, complete 3,000 hours of community service and have the opportunity to travel to Nicaragua to help build homes for impoverished families in December 2016. Her long term goal is to give back to her community by providing scholarships for Hispanic/ Latino students who wish to pursue a college education.
