Become a Member or Renew Your Membership (click on the below to submit) HWL Membership Application When you become a member or renew membership between Jan. & Sept. membership applies to current year. If you become a member or renew membership between Oct. & Dec. membership will apply towards the following year. There are six type of memberships:
1. Regular ($40+admin fee)- As a regular member you will have the right to vote if membership is paid no less than 90 days before the general election held on the last Tuesday of September. You may hold office & participate on committees. 2. Student ($20+admin fee) - As a student, you get the benefits of a regular member. You will have the right to vote if membership is paid no less than 90 days before the general election held on the last Tuesday of September. You may hold office & participate on committees. 3. Senior (65yr+) $20+admin fee - You get the benefits of a regular member. You will have the right to vote if membership is paid no less than 90 days before the general election held on the last Tuesday of September. You may hold office & participate on committees. 4. Men/Male (non-voting member) $25+ admin fee - Men who wish to support our goals, interests, and mission are welcome to join. Eligible to sit on committees and participate in events, but unable to vote in general election held on the last Tuesday of September or hold positions on the board of directors. 5. Community Based Organization(CBO) Community $100+ Admin fee- based organizations wishing to work in collaborative relationship and who support our goals, interests and mission. This includes an opportunity to promote organization at HWL events. 6. Business Businesses $150 +Admin fee - While unable to vote, may become sponsors. Their name will be included as a sponsor on our website. They are also able to host an event to share their services with our membership during the year.
Join a Committee! DINNER COMMITTEE Overseer and line of contact for all matters concerned with the Annual Dinner including promotion of sponsorship and helps to fundraise money towards the dinner.
MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE Grows the organization and encourage participation from members. Plans all membership events and welcomes members by providing welcome packages and intro to committees to join.
SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE Promotes scholarship, develops relationships with colleges, participates in college fairs, reviews and awards scholarships to deserving Hispanic women attending college. Reaches out to past awardees to help keep awareness of past recipients success.
MARKETING/BRANDING COMMITTEE Responsible for maintaining webpage and tracking level of engagement. Creates all marketing materials and continues to work on re-branding initiative.
FUNDRAISING COMMITTEE To develop and implement activities throughout the year to raise funds for the organization in accordance with the mandates and guidance of the Board. WOMEN EMPOWERMENT COMMITTEE To promote Self-improvement; Committee Development, Leadership Training and more.
BOARD DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE The Board Development Committee shall concern itself with the Parliamentary Procedures using Roberts Rules, oversee all election procedures, general committee development.
PUBLIC RELATIONS OFFICER Communicate HWL events to members and community through all social media, email, etc. Inform members of community events to participate and represent the HWL, such as walkathons, health fairs, parades, community support relies, etc.
SUNSHINE COMMITTEE Promotes fellowship among members.
