Adrianna grew up on the West Side of Buffalo where drugs and criminal activity was the norm. From the time she was a little girl, she always knew an education was the only way she could make her life different than that of her childhood. Adrianna did not have the financial and emotional support from her family to pursue a higher education and her aspirations. She started at UB but eventually had to go to work and stopped going to school. This experience opened her eyes to the need of an education and after many hurdles, made it back to ECC. She was worried about being an older student and felt like a failure before she even stepped into the classroom. But she grew close with her professors and finished with a GPA of 4.0 even after being outside of a classroom for years. She has transferred to Buffalo State College and is now pursuing her Bachelor’s in Business Administration.
