The Hispanic Women's League gets recognized this past Friday January 16th, 2009 at the Buffalo Museum of Science.
The drum major for justice was part of the birthday celebration of Dr. Martin Luther king Jr. organized by NYS Senator Antoine M. Thompsom.
A beautiful plaque and proclamation was presented to our president, Miriam Lawrence who proudly accepted on behalf of the league.

Known for her unforgettable role as "Anita" in the musical "West Side Story", Ms. Moreno is one of just nine performers in history to win the Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony awards. A portion of the proceeds will be applied to the Hispanic Women’s League Scholarship Fund.
